TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10, NIV) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria I read a report from a nurse who takes care of people who are close to death. She asked hundreds of patients in the last twelve weeks of their life what their biggest regret was. The number one regret reported was, “I wish I had been true to who I was and not just lived to meet the expectations of others.” How many people today are not being true to who God created them to be simply because they are afraid they’re going to disappoint somebody? They’re afraid they may fall out of someone else’s good grace. They worry about not being accepted into a certain group. I say this respectfully, but you cannot live trying to be who your parents want you to be, or who your boss wants you to be, or who your friends want you t...

Free From People Pleasing TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.” (Proverbs 29:25, NLT) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria In life, there will always be people who try to squeeze you into their mold; people who try to pressure you into being who they want you to be. They may be good people. They may mean well. But the problem is that they aren’t your creator. They didn’t breathe life into you. They didn’t equip you, empower you or anoint you; Almighty God did! If you’re going to be all that God created you to be, you can’t focus on what everybody else thinks. If you change with every criticism, trying to win the favor of others, then you’ll go through life being manipulated and letting people squeeze you into their box. You have to realize that you can’t keep every person happy. You can’t make everyone like you. You’ll never win over all of your critics. Instead of trying to please people, when you ...

Daily Inspiration

Staying focus can sometimes be difficult. It is important to keep your eyes on your dreams and goals.  Focusing  on your goals and the goals of your loved ones can be demanding  at times you may feel overwhelmed.  Do not let the pressures of life allow you to fall into a state of depression. People tend to suffer from depression in silence, which is very dangerous.   Staying focus requires living a balanced life . While keeping your eyes on the prize is great, do not neglect the other areas of your life. Enjoy your loved ones, enjoy life. Learn who your true friends are and enjoy being around them. Get rid of people who only come to steal your energy. LET GO AND LET GOD! Be your best self at all times, and when you don't feel like driving allow Jesus to take the wheel. Proverbs 4:25 ESV /  Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.

Never Disappointed TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “...those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” (Isaiah 49:23, NIV) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria What a powerful promise we have from Almighty God! When we put our hope in Him, we will never be disappointed. Of course, that doesn’t mean that things will always go our way. There may be temporary disappointments, but we will never be permanently disappointed. Somewhere down the road, God will cause it to all work out for our good. With God on your side, you will always end in victory! Are you carrying frustration, worry or aggravation about something? That’s usually a clear sign that your hope is in the wrong place. If you hope in circumstances, it will deplete you of joy and peace. But when you turn those circumstances over to God, when you refuse to worry, when you refuse to allow the temporary things of this world to dictate your happiness, that’s when God can do a work in your life. When you trust in Him...

Weekend Quotes

"Having a family is like having a bowling alley installed in your brain”. Alan Bleasdale “You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance”. Franklin P. Jones “I think we’re seeing in working mothers a change from “Thank God it’s Friday” to “Thank God it’s Monday.” If any working mother has not experienced that feeling, her children are not adolescent”. Ann Diehl: Vogue Jan 85 "Always be nice to your children because they are the ones who will choose your rest home". ~ Phyllis Diller "Children seldom misquote. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said". Unknown Have a Blessed weekend !

True Love

Love Never Fails 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.  NIV The Word of God warns us not to place confidence in the flesh of man. We are also taught that we should be wise as a serpent, yet remain harmless like a dove. It's easy to recognize a serpent in the natural; nevertheless, it can be very difficult to have the discernment needed to recognize one in the heart of a person. When we care about a person, and they fail us, it can injure us. Therefore, we need to use our wisdom and our ability to discern people's character so that we're not blinded by their charisma and end up hurt. We must view people as God sees them. He knows that we're flesh, and we have...

When Things Are Out of Control TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense.” (Proverbs 19:11, AMP) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria Every day, we have opportunities to get upset, be frustrated, or get offended. Maybe you had plans that didn’t work out, or someone was rude to you at the office. Maybe you were doing something that should have taken one hour and it ended up taking three. Life is full of inconveniences, but even though we can’t always control our circumstances, we can control our reaction. I heard somebody say, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond.” We should always go out each day with a positive attitude, full of hope and expecting God’s favor. But at the same time, we should recognize that most days are not going to go exactly as we plan. Remember, we were created to live in peace. Peace is our position of power. If you get stressed beca...

When to Turn Away TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.” (Psalm 119:37, NIV) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria In order to live the life of victory God has promised, you have to be very selective about what you give your time and attention to. You have to recognize which thoughts to ignore, which comments to ignore, and sometimes, which people to ignore. Every “battle” that comes across your path is not a battle that you’re supposed to fight. Many battles are simply distractions to try to lure you off course. If that battle is not between you and your God-given destiny, it’s a battle you should ignore. Many people get thrown off course because they are always trying to straighten everyone else out or win their approval. But if that’s your focus, you are wasting valuable time and energy that you should be using to pursue your dreams. Turn away from that distraction! You don’t need the approv...

Weekend Quotes

Laughter is the best medicine....... “I want my children to have all the things I couldn’t afford. Then I want to move in with them.” ~ Phyllis Diller "The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.” ~ Rajneesh “Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” ~ Elizabeth Stone "Working mothers are guinea pigs in a scientific experiment to show that sleep is not necessary to human life." — Anonymous   The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness . - HonorĂ© de Balzac  When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. - Sophia Loren, Women and Beauty Have a blessed weekend

As summer comes to an end, we must regain focus and prepare for a new academic school semester. It is important that we are at our best.     We as parents need to take these last few weeks of summer to mentally and physically prepare ourselves for what lies ahead.   School time is a busy time in my house hold; keeping up with projects, homework, studying, and extra curricula activities can be a bit overwhelming. This weekend take a minute to mediate on God’s Word, draw closer to him. Take a minute for yourself. Read a book, when is the last time you wrapped your mind around a good novel? Join a book club, go to the movies, go to a concert, get rid of the kids (family) and spend some time home alone doing absolutely nothing,  just relax – free your mind – we only have a few weeks left and once again “the fun begins”.   I am so looking forward to one of my  daughters telling me at 10:00pm they have a project due the next day and they  ...

A Womans worth

A woman can deal with stress and carry heavy burdens. She smiles when she feels like screaming, and she sings when she feels like crying. She cries when she's happy and laughs when she's afraid. Her love is unconditional. There's only one thing wrong with her. She forgets what she's worth! Proverbs 31:10 American Standard Version (ASV) 10  A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 8:11 American Standard Version (ASV) 11  For wisdom is better than rubies; And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared unto it. Proverbs 14:1 American Standard Version (ASV) 14  Every wise woman buildeth her house; But the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands.  You are a gem in God's eyes!!! let your light shine =-)

Keep your head held high

Life will sometimes throw you a curve ball, just when all is going well and according to "your" plans , the floor gets moved from under your feet. It is at that point  that we must realize that our plans may not be GOD'S plan for our life. The bible teaches us to seek  first the kingdom of God. In all we do,  we must consult with God. There is just no if's or and's about it . Matthew 6:33 American Standard Version (ASV) 33  But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Be blessed....let no one disturb your peace

Moving Up Higher TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.” (Psalm 102:13, NKJV) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria One thing I’ve learned in my life is that God likes to outdo Himself. His dream for your life is so much bigger than your own. His ways are higher, and He has an appointed time of favor for your life. He is going to take you places that you never thought possible. He is going to open up doors that you never have imagined. He’s going to bring talent out of you that you didn’t even know you had. This is the time to get excited about your future! It’s time to get your hopes up because you have been chosen by the Creator of the universe. Your destiny is not determined by the economy, how you were raised, or your education. Your destiny is determined by Almighty God. Today, I want to encourage you to set your thoughts on things above. It’s time for you to move up higher to ...

Here are some quotes to help get you through your day, remember its okay to smile. Dont be afraid to laugh. ....... “How is it that I can start the day as Mary Poppins, only to end the day as Cruella Deville?” ~ Mom’s the Word: Remixed (stage play) “If your kids are giving you a headache, follow the directions on the aspirin bottle, especially the part that says “keep away from children.” ~ Susan Savannah “Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell, the name will carry.” ~ Bill Cosby “If your baby is beautiful and perfect, never cries or fusses, sleeps on schedule and burps on demand, an angel all the time, you’re the grandma.” ~ Theresa Bloomingdale

Scripture for the day

Matthew 6:27-34 Amplified Bible (AMP) 27  And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the [ a ] span of his life? 28  And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and [ b ] learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. 29  Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his [ c ] magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. 30  But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith? 31  Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? 32  For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need t...

High Time TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “...It is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11, NKJV) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria So many people today are living overwhelmed, exhausted and overburdened by the pressures of life. They’ve allowed themselves to live on autopilot, day in and day out, passive toward the things God has place in their hearts. If that’s you, now is the time to get your fire back! Let me encourage you to press past the things that would try to hold you back. God is saying, “It’s high time to wake up.” Notice that phrasing. Not just time but high time. That means it’s incredibly important because you are coming into a destiny moment! You are sitting on the launching pad. God is about to thrust you to a new level! Now is not the time to be passive, sloppy or undisciplined. Now more than ever, it’s time to get focused and start moving forward! Why is this so important? Jus...
