Memorial Day is a special occasion when we take time to honor and remember our fallen heroes, those in the United States armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of this great country. It is a time when we not only remember their sacrifices and mourn their departure, but also celebrate the spirit with which they served and reflect upon their contributions in making America, truly, the land of the free and home of the brave. In the words of President Abraham Lincoln, it is the job of the living to “take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure.” We owe it to the heroes who died and the loved ones left behind to make sure their sacrifices are remembered and that their service to this nation is always honored. We dedicate this day to them.
